Biography

B.S., Physical Education, minor: Secondary Education, Middle Tennessee State University
M.S., Recreation and Sport Administration, Western Kentucky University
M.Ed., Educational Leadership, University of Florida (in progress)

After a four-year hiatus from higher learning to start a family, Marcus McDonald returned to college as a non-traditional student to pursue his undergraduate degree from Middle Tennessee State University. While working nights and raising three children, Marcus attended class during the day and cites his wife, Christine, as the key factor in his ability to maintain the motivation and discipline to endure the challenges and realize his goals.

Graduating in spring of 2008, Marcus began his teaching career in fall of the same year in the field of middle school Physical Education and quickly obtained additional certifications as a means to expand his horizons and knowledge base. During his time as an educator, he has taught Biology, Web Design, Microsoft Office and Google Suite, Computer Science, HOPE, and US/World History.

As a person with a diverse upbringing, Marcus is excited to work with the rich culture P.K. Yonge provides and believes his greatest accomplishments are the relationships he has established over the course of his career. What Marcus values most is the ability to reach students to provide guidance and serve as a mentor.
