Jamie is a longtime advocate for youth and marginalized communities. She has worked with first-generation and limited-income college students at UF’s TRIO, AIM, and Promise programs and has worked as a counselor at Pace Center for Girls, as well as various youth programs in East Gainesville.

Jamie uses narrative and relational-cultural frameworks to work alongside families– prioritizing each student’s preexisting strengths, and supporting each one in their growth toward further resilience and empowerment in their academic and personal development. Overall, Jamie has focused her work on identity, trauma, the impact of oppression on mental health, and she is a local advocate for racial equity in education.

Outside of school, Jamie enjoys graphic design, video editing, watching movies, and connecting with friends.
