Virtually P.K., Monday, March 30

March 26, 2020

Sometimes things that present as significant challenges become our greatest opportunities.

We are excited about welcoming all of you to Virtually P.K.!

Please visit the Virtually P.K. page on the web for important information about equipment, instruction, and expectations.

The rapid shift we have made to be ready for remote instruction can only be described as incredible. The P.K. Yonge faculty and staff have committed enormous amounts of time, energy, and creativity in moving face-to-face school completely online, and support received from Blue Wave families has been of such encouragement as we worked to launch Virtually P.K.

Virtually P.K. would not have been possible without the instructional systems, technological infrastructure, tools, and teaching expertise already on our campus. This strong foundation meant that we were incredibly well-positioned to open Virtually P.K. and we are excited to see what opportunities present themselves as we continue school remotely.

As we open the doors to Virtually P.K., let’s remember that we – students, families, faculty, and staff – are engaging in something that’s completely new for all of us. We are all facing different routines, problem-solving situations with our families, engaging in tasks in completely new ways, and learning to engage as a new kind of virtual community.

As a community, we must all commit to making efforts to connect and exhibit patience and grace as we navigate these waters together. Should you have questions or concerns, please direct them to MainOffice@pky.ufl.edu.

We have been overwhelmed by expressions of support from our community and we’ve been wondering how to adequately express our gratitude. Perhaps the best way for us to thank all of you is by opening the doors to Virtually P.K. on March 30.

We’re excited about crossing this new frontier with all of you, Blue Wave family!

Let Virtually P.K. begin!
