P.K. Yonge Students Volunteering in the Community
Image

Our students volunteer not only because it is a requirement for graduation but because community service is a tradition.

We will be using this page to highlight some of these activities throughout the year.  Keep coming back and looking for announcements on the home page to find out exactly how awesome our student volunteers are!

Varsity Cheerleaders Help with Heartwalk

The P.K. Yonge Varsity Cheerleaders received some nice letters thanking them for participating in the heartwalk, which took place September 18 in Gainesville.

With regard to the P.K. Yonge cheerleaders' presence at the event, Kay Ayers, Vice President of Member Services, said, "I think it really added to the whole event - especially having them there at the finish line. Thank them for their fund donations as well."

Mr.  Ward Boston CEO of North Florida Regional Hospital had this to say:

"Thanks to you, this year's Heart Walk was a huge success - and that success isn't just measured in the money you helped raise. The true value of the Start! Heart Walk was reflected in the faces of those walking to remember a loved one, committing to a healthier lifestyle and striving for a better community.

Thank you so much for leading your team and helping your walkers throughout their participation. Team captains like you are the "heart and sole" of the Start! Heart Walk. Without you, there wouldn't be a Start! Heart Walk, and we are so grateful for your participation."

Kudos to the Varsity Cheerleaders for representing P.K. Yonge so well.  Keep up the good work!
