Cody Miller Named in ILA’s “30 Under 30”

Congratulations to P.K. Yonge’s 9th grade English Language Arts Instructor, Cody Miller!

Mr. Miller was named to the International Literacy Association’s (ILA) 30 Under 30 List – ILA-30Under30.

From the ILA Website: “The list celebrates the rising innovators, disruptors, and visionaries in the literacy field. These educators, researchers, and advocates represent some of the best and brightest emerging leaders working to achieve our collective mission: literacy for all.”

Mr. Miller, a strong voice on issues of equity and inclusion in education, was awarded the Teaching Tolerance Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2016 and works alongside colleagues at P.K. Yonge to keep issues of equity at the forefront of the school community.

“Cody brought new energy to the conversations on equity on our campus. We definitely feel that our efforts to provide equitable learning opportunities to students have been enhanced by his efforts as well as by the recognition he has received for his work.” said Carrie Geiger, Ed.D., P.K. Yonge principal.

As a member of this list, Mr. Miller joins 29 other educators, researchers, and advocates from across the globe who are recognized for extraordinary contributions to the ‘Literacy for All’ movement.
