Today is Wednesday, September 20th, and it is an A Day.

A reminder that tomorrow, Friday, September 21 is a Student Holiday.

Welcome to Homecoming Week! Today Spirit Thursday. We will be announcing the winner of the dress up contest this afternoon. To vote for the best faculty costume, go to the Student Government Twitter account and click the link.  Dime wars will be going on this week. Help your grade level win a pizza party.

The Homecoming Dance will start at 9pm Friday and end at 11:30pm. Purchase your  $10 ticket in the business office. The dance is semi-formal.

The Rosa Rabell scholarship application is DUE by October 12, 2018 before 12:00 pm.  See Mrs. Santiago for more information.

All 10th, 11th, and 12th grade Tri-M music honor society members, there will be a meeting TODAY during high school lunch in Dr. Harris room A-104 in the PAC. We will elect officers and discuss our service projects for this year.

Performing Arts Students:  Sell those Yankee Candles!

Remember to turn in your order forms as well as your on-line sales print outs on September 26th!

Registration for the PSAT will begin on Monday, September 24th. The PSAT will be given Wednesday, October 10th at the Reitz Union on UF campus. The PSAT is the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship. All sophomores will be given the test free of charge and will not need to register. 11th and 9th grade students may take the test for a fee of $30. Waivers are available for students in need of financial assistance. Sign-up is in the business office. There are limited seats. The deadline is Thursday, October 4th, 2018.

P.K. Theatre will be presenting our Fall Evening of Scenes on Thursday October 4, 7:00 PM. $5 at the door to get in!

All UNICEF members our meeting has been moved to TODAY during lunch. Please plan accordingly.

National Art Honor Society meets TODAY during High School lunch in Mr. Moody’s room.

Gainesville will celebrate International Day of Peace on 9/21 from 4-7 PM, highlighting the “Empowered Voices of Youth.” Come and hear the voices of our youth through songs, poetry, stories, see their art and watch their dance as they express the hope and vision for our future both locally and the world over.  There will be an international flag ceremony, so march with us along University Avenue.

We are hoping to see a HUGE turnout at the Blue Wave Homecoming Football Game on Friday night.  Kick off is at 7:30 PM. Go Blue Wave!

Remember there is no school tomorrow.  Your teachers will be sharing their research at their annual Inquiry Symposium.  Yes, they will be talking about you!
