The Z-A countdown continues today with K-day are you wearing a crown like a King, or khakis or a kilt?  Tomorrow is J day so wear jeans, jewelry or a jersey.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Green ribbons are the official symbol for mental health awareness to fight stigma, provide support, educate the public, and advocate for equal care for persons with mental health concerns. Raul Ortiz will be passing out green ribbons during high school lunch, please feel free to take one and spread the word.

Academics

The May Scholarship Letter is Now Available! You can find it on the announcements page of the website or the School Counseling Twitter.

Athletics

Any student interested in running cross country, meet Friday right after school in the weight room.  This is for all middle or high school students who would like to run next school year for the PK cross country team.

Clubs

The Men’s Volleyball game is today during third period!

Middle School B.O.S.S. will be meeting today in Rm. J-306 during lunch.  B.O.S.S. members are asked to wear their B.O.S.S. shirts.   Lunch will be provided for current members.

Color guard auditions next Tuesday, May 23 and Wednesday, May 24 from 3:15-5pm. in the band room.  Open to all high school students.  No experience necessary.

If you are interested in becoming a new member of the National Junior Honor Society you can download an application from the club page on the school website.  You can also get a copy of the application from Dr. Cordero or Dr. Breil.  Students must have a 3.4 GPA which can be found on Skyward.  Applications are due tomorrow.  If you have any questions please contact Dr. Cordero.

Performing Arts

Five great bands, one great night. Our student bands rock and you can hear them at R-Evolution tomorrow night at 7pm in the PKY PAC for free.

Seniors

Senior Banquet is Wednesday May 31st. The cost is $10 per student. Please pay at the business office.

Complete and submit your requests for final transcripts to be sent to your colleges now.  Requests will be fulfilled in the order in which they are received.  Remember final transcripts cannot be printed and sent until grades are finalized in Skyward.  Do it now, being sure to include all pertinent information.

Yearbooks

Yearbooks have arrived and are on sale during lunch outside the cafeteria and after school in Mr. Holt’s room.  The cost is $70 cash or check made out to UF.  Yearbooks will not be sold during instructional time or in between classes.
