Announcements, Thursday, 12/6

December 6, 2018

Will the students ever beat the teachers on the court?  Come to the Student-Faculty basketball game TOMORROW to find out! Tickets are on sale at lunch today–still only $3 or 3 cans of food.  All proceeds go to charity.

Middle School National Honor Society Members please come to our meeting TODAY during lunch in Mrs. Beckett’s room.  We will be working to plan our next service projects. Please fill out the Google survey in your Canvas Inbox before coming to the meeting.

Today is the blood drive. Anyone who is 16 years old will need a parent permission form to give blood. Older students do not need a form. Everyone giving blood must bring their photo ID today. Remember: If you gave blood at the last blood drive you cannot give blood today because LifeSouth has changed their rules. You must have permission from your teacher before you can leave class. Thanks for giving blood!

Attention Track & Field:  Track and Field Conditioning will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays after school instead of Tuesday and Thursday until the holiday break.

The Winter Holiday Chorus concert for middle and high school choirs will be held TONIGHT at 7pm. Admission is free, but a donation to Toys for Tots would be greatly appreciated. The Toys for Tots program is in great need of new unwrapped toys for children in the Gainesville area. Please join us for some terrific holiday music and bring a toy to help a child.

Hey, students!  Do you want to hear your teacher sing “The 12 Days of Christmas” over the announcements on the last day before Winter Break?  Bring any amount of money and put it in your favorite (or, maybe, not so favorite) teacher’s container. You can put in paper money or coins – it doesn’t matter – the teacher who has the most money in their container will be singing on the morning announcements.  The trio will include one elementary teacher, one middle school teacher, and one high school teacher. Make sure you fill those containers to make your teachers sing!

It’s time for our Toys for Tots toy drive!  P.K. Yonge’s National Honor Society is teaming up with the United States Marine Corps to collect toys for underprivileged children this holiday season.  We would like to provide a happy holiday for as many children as possible this year – and your generosity will help that happen! Please bring in NEW, UNOPENED, AND UNWRAPPED toys by Friday, December 14th. Bring them to Dr. Weller’s room (M-350) or look for the collection box before and after school up at the top circle.
