Today is Friday, September 22nd, 2017 and today is a B Day!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

This year PK is holding our first ever DM Homecoming Dance, but we need your opinion on what you want. There is a google form that all high school students must fill out on PK’s student government twitter @PKYongeGov. This form is very important so please do that ASAP. Let’s have a great homecoming dance.

Middle School Softball Club will begin 9/28 after school from 2:45 – 3:45. Please see Mr. Steffens or the info on PK website for details. There’s still time to sign up.

Students interested in participating in the Rosa Rabell scholarship please see Mrs. Santiago after school this week.

Thespian Club members— Please note:  If you are planning to sell Yankee Candles, please pick up your sale materials in J-309.

Try-outs for fall softball are today after school at the softball field.

Literary Arts Magazine will meet today in Ms. Boehm’s room (L353) during high school power hour.

Please join the Global Awareness Club this Friday during Power Hour at Z-1427.

Attention Middle School students:  Come to the ARK (Acts of Random Kindness) Club meeting today.  We are meeting in room K326 during lunch and power hour.

There will be a new middle school reading and writing club in Mrs. Beckett’s room I-109 on Fridays during power hour.

There will be a mandatory Habitat for Humanity meeting on Monday during power hour in Señora Rodriguez’s classroom. All new and returning members should be in attendance. If you are unable to make the meeting, please see Señora Rodriguez as soon as possible for a club interest form.

Any student interested in taking driver education this semester should see Coach Johnson to sign up. Students must be at least 15 years of age. The class will meet on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:15 am until 8:00 am; and on Wednesday afternoons from 1:40 pm until 2:30 pm. The cost for the course is $ 100. All checks must be made payable to the “ University of Florida “. The first 30 students to sign up will be admitted into the class. Please do not bring payment until you have been admitted into the class.

Are you interested in serving your country, while having the opportunity to become a pilot, doctor, or even astronaut one day? An Air Force Officer will be available during high school lunch outside of the cafeteria on September 27 to talk about an exciting scholarship opportunity that allows you to be a college student while training to be an Air Force officer. Don’t forget to stop by!

A quick note from the cafeteria staff regarding the free meal program: The cafeteria will serve one breakfast and one lunch meal per child per meal session. Any extras need to be purchased with money in their account or cash. The individual getting the meal has to be present at the point of sale, if they don’t know their number the cafeteria will be glad to look it up by their last name. The cafeteria will have three lines open at biscuit break to accommodate every student getting back to class in a timely manner
