Good morning, Blue Wave.

Today is Friday, August 18th and it’s B day. This means you attend periods 4, 5, & 6!

Please have your lunch number ready when you move through the line.  When you do not know your lunch number, it slows the line down.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Come out to support your Blue Wave Football team tonight at 7:30 PM.

The first week of school means our sports seasons kick-off real soon! Interested in becoming a sports-journalist? Attend the WaveRunner Interest Meeting on Thursday, August 17th at 11:45am in room J-307 to find out how and join the squad.

Power Hour FAQs are now available on the website under the Academics Tab. Today will be out first Power Hour.

The Speech and Debate Team will have an interest meeting on Wednesday August 23rd at 1:45pm for all interested students in the library back room. Anyone who is interested in joining the Speech and Debate team should plan on attending this meeting. Information about being involved in the club will be passed out, and all of the upcoming activities will be discussed. If you have any questions you can see Mr. Lightbourne in the library or email him at tlightbourne@pky.ufl.edu We hope to see you at the meeting!

The National Honor Society meeting has been rescheduled for Monday, August 28th during Power Hour in Dr. Weller’s room, M350. This year’s membership is posted outside her room.

Middle and high school students are invited to Comic and Writing club with Club President Emma Habeck every Monday in Ms. Cheveallier’s room, K324 during Power Hour and lunch.

Our PKY Fall play will be DRACULA! Auditions will be Thursday August 24th at 2:45 PM. The sign up for audition times is on our school website Thespians page. Scripts and audition materials are available in J-309.

Today is Spirit Day at PK Yonge. We will celebrate our PKY pride during the Power Hour Pep Rally.  High School students, come to the gym for the Pep Rally from 11:45-12:15; Middle School students come celebrate from 12:15-12:45.

Because of the Solar Eclipse on Monday, all classes will end at 11:45. Since Monday is an A day, periods 1, 2, and 3 will meet for 70 minutes each. Secondary students may pick up a lunch to go from the cafeteria.  All students should be off campus by 12:15.  There will be no school-sponsored outdoor activities.  Please check the school website for more information.
