Announcements, Friday 8/17

August 17, 2018

Today is Friday, August 17, and it is a B Day.  Today you will attend periods 4, 5, and 6.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today is the last day to sign up for a locker in front of the cafeteria during lunch.  After today, you will need to go to the front office to request a locker.

Students looking for volunteer hours for graduation requirements? Varsity football is looking for students to work the concession stand at home football games.  Please see Coach Barrett as soon as possible if you are interested.

Please remember you must have your parking pass by next Friday.  They cost $25 and can be purchased in the Business Office.

If you are tardy to school or class, please report to the tardy kiosk closest to your location — either the front office or the ISD room located in K331.

The area in which you have lunch is limited to inside the cafeteria, the patio areas, and the wooden picnic tables on the grass on the west side of  K and M wings. Because middle school and high school lunches are separate, there are classes in session while other students are at lunch. We want to make sure we are not interrupting student learning.

Just a reminder:

The food truck will be here on Monday, August 20th.

Lost and Found is now located in the front office.  Items will be donated each month, so if you lose something, ask about it right away. Found Lunch boxes and other food-related items will be placed on the hallway shelf in the lunchroom.

The SRO, Officer Savona, would like to remind you to lock your vehicles and keep valuables out of plain sight.

There will be a high school National Honor Society meeting on Monday, August 20th, during high school lunch in Dr. Weller’s room (M-350).  This is a mandatory meeting for returning members and members who received their acceptance letters at the end of last year.

Athletics:

We are excited about kicking off the 2018 BlueWave football season.  We will pump up our team and gear up for our first victory at a Pep Rally next Friday, August 24th, the day of our first home football game.  There will be a contest to see which class shows the most spirit by wearing designated colors:

o   Seniors – blue

o   Juniors – white

o   Sophomores – orange

o   Freshmen –  gray

The Cheerleaders have been planning an awesome Pep Rally, so get ready to GO BLUE WAVE!

BLUEWAVE BASEBALL:

There will be a 6th-12th grade Fall Baseball Meeting on Tuesday, August 21st at 2:45 in the dugout. At this meeting, Coach Brunson will let players know which fall team they will be on  — either on the Middle School team or the JV/Varsity Combo team. Fall Ball will start on September 4th. The JV/Varsity Combo team will practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:30; the Middle School Team will practice on Wednesdays from 2:00-4:00. All Fall Ball games are Away games, and no bus will be provided. All players must have a current Sports Physical on file with Coach Barrett by September 4th.  If you have any questions, see Coach Brunson.
