Announcements, Monday

December 11, 2017

Good morning, Blue Wave.  Today is Monday, December 11th and it is a B Day!

A reminder from administration: While profanity has become prevalent in many aspects of our culture, it is not appropriate for the school setting.  Please remember that we are a K-12 school. Keep your conversation school-appropriate, so that we maintain an environment that is comfortable for EVERYONE in the PK family.

Help the homeless! There are donation boxes in the front office and the school library that are collecting presents for local children in need for the holidays. Their wishlist includes…

  • Socks
  • Legos
  • Learning Toys
  • Action Figures
  • Books and Puzzles
  • Toy Cars
  • Tinkerbell, Frozen, Trolls, or Monster High merchandise
  • Art Supplies

Please donate, and happy holidays!

There will be a Varsity Tennis Meeting on Tuesday, Dec 12. The meeting will be in room I-106 from 2:40-3:00. All returning and interested players should attend.

The Yearbook Staff has a couple of announcements:

  1. If you have not yet ordered your yearbook, reserve a copy today at the early bird rate of $60 and guarantee yourself a copy. Prices will increase after December 31st to $70.

To reserve a copy of the yearbook go the announcement tab on the PKY website and click here

  1. Senior yearbook adsare also available for purchase. A senior ad is a dedicated section of the yearbook specifically for your son or daughter. You may purchase an ad online, and we strongly recommend that the ads be ordered sooner rather than later so we can start them ASAP. Once your ad has been purchased, be looking for an email which will include a survey for us to gather ad information regarding your son or daughter. Ads will be available for purchase until January 31.

To purchase an ad go the announcement tab on the PKY website click here.

Thanks for your support!

School Counseling:

The December Scholarship Newsletter is available! There are many scholarships for seniors, so please visit the PK Yonge website or the School Counseling Twitter to take a look.

Attention upperclassmen:  The last day to get transcripts before the holiday break is tomorrow, December 12th. Please see Mrs. Flinchum if you need a copy of your transcript for college applications.

Reminder that tomorrow will be a 1-6 Day. You will attend all of your classes.

Dismissal will be at 12:30 on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Campus will close at 1 PM on Friday.  All students need to be off campus by 1 PM on Friday.

Power Hour:

Have you ever wanted to hear your teachers sing your favorite holiday songs? Well now is your chance. VOTE in front of the cafeteria during Power Hour/Lunch between now and December 12th for the teacher you want to hear sing the Twelve Days of Christmas on December 15th. Place whatever amount of money you wish into the teacher’s bucket of your choosing. The teacher with the most money will have to sing over the school speakers on the last day of school before break. One teacher from elementary, middle and high school will be selected. Ask your tenth-grade student officers for more information. We can’t wait for you to help us spread holiday cheer!

Today the library is reserved for 12th grade.
